One clock
Every countdown runs on our server's time, never your device's, and every bid is recorded to the second.
Bid with confidence
Who authenticates our lots, how to check a certificate yourself, and how we keep bidding fair.
We list items authenticated or graded by independent companies. On every authenticated lot you'll see who authenticated it, the certificate number and, where there is one, the grade.
Step 1
Authenticated lots carry a badge on their photo with the authenticator and any grade.
Step 2
The Authentication section of the lot page shows the certificate number, a photo of the certificate where we have one, and a Verify button that opens the authenticator's own record.
Step 3
Check that the record matches the item in our photos. If anything doesn't look right, tell us before you bid.
Every countdown runs on our server's time, never your device's, and every bid is recorded to the second.
A bid in the last 3 minutes adds 3 minutes, so the last word is never a surprise.
Your maximum bid is yours alone. In the bid history other bidders appear as Bidder 1, Bidder 2, and you as You.
You pay the winning price plus shipping, packaging and sales tax. There's no buyer's premium. Invoices are paid online with PayPal, so your card or bank details never reach our site. Consignors pay our 17% commission out of their sale, and are paid after the buyer has paid.
We only use your details to run your account, your bids and your orders. Your email address and shipping address are never shown to other bidders. Read our privacy policy.
