Your information
Privacy Policy
What we keep about you, why we keep it, and who we share it with.
Who we are
Last updated October 29, 2026
Dugout Auctions runs this website. This policy explains what we keep about you, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Our address is CA.
What we keep
- Your account: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, your state and ZIP code, and your password (stored scrambled; we can't read it).
- Addresses: the shipping addresses you save, and whether each is in an area we ship to.
- Bidding and buying: your bids and maximums, offers, watched lots, saved searches, invoices, payments, refunds and shipping.
- Consigning: what you send us about your items, how you'd like to be paid, and your statements.
- Emails: a record of the emails we send you, and your email choices.
- Security: the connection (IP) address used when you sign up, sign in and bid, to protect accounts and stop fraud.
Why we keep it
To run your account; to take bids, sell lots, send invoices and ship orders; to pay consignors; to keep the site safe and stop fraud; to keep the records the law requires; and, if you ask for them, to send you emails about upcoming auctions.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We share only what's needed with the companies that help us run the auctions: PayPal to take payments (your card and bank details go to them, never to us), the carriers who deliver your orders, and the companies that host the site and send our emails. We may also share information when the law requires it.
Other bidders never see your name, email or address. In bid histories, bidders appear as Bidder 1, Bidder 2.
Emails
We email you about your account, bids, wins, invoices and shipments. You can switch off bid confirmations, outbid alerts, reminders and saved search alerts in My Account, or from the link in each email. Emails about upcoming auctions are only sent if you sign up for them and confirm, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
Cookies and your device
We use cookies to keep you signed in, to protect forms against misuse, and to count each lot view once a day. If you add the site to your home screen, your browser may keep copies of lot pages you've opened so you can look at them offline; we only ever keep the public version of a page, never your bids or account.
How long we keep it
We keep account and order records for as long as your account is open and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Security records are kept for a short time. Newsletter sign-ups that are never confirmed are removed.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change most of your details in My Account. You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it (we may need to keep some records, such as invoices, for legal reasons). California residents have these rights under California law, and we won't treat you differently for using them. Contact us to make a request.
Children
The site isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly keep information about children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. Questions? Email us at contactus@harrysdugout.com.
